WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY WITH THE CANON EOS R
Welcome to my review of the Canon EOS R as a wedding photography camera in 2021. In this video I go over a few points that are important to me as an event/wedding photographer such as ergonomics, low light performance, camera settings and of course it would not be an EOS R review if I didn’t touch on the single card slot. I’ve had the EOS R since it launched in 2018 and I’ve been loving it since I first got my hands on it. In my opinion it feels amazing in the hands and is a pleasure to use. It’s my favorite Canon camera to this point. I even prefer using the EOS R over my EOS R5 when I’m shooting for fun. If you’re interested in buying an EOS R and using it to shoot events than this video is for you.

Above is a side profile photo of the EOS R and the EOS R5 so you can see the difference in the grips. I personally find the EOS R to be so much more comfortable to hold especially for long periods of time like a full day wedding.
Above is a photo of where to find Canon’s exposure simulation in the menu. If you’re shooting events and switching between shooting with flash and natural light you’ll have to turn exposure simulation off when you use your your flash so that you get the correct exposure in camera especially when your flash is going to overpower the ambient light on your subject.
Below are some example photos of the last wedding I shot with the EOS R. If you want to see more of my wedding work check out my wedding and commercial webpage www.vasko.ca
* I just want to clarify that the wedding in these photos was shot before the Covid-19 pandemic started.
