MIR 24H 35MM F2 VINTAGE LENS PHOTO SAMPLES
I think I love this lens. Up until recently the only vintage lenses in my collection were old Canon FD glass. But I recently stepped outside my bubble and picked up a MIR 24H 35mm f2. It’s a vintage Soviet lens from the 1980s. The previous owner modified the original mount to EF which is fantastic because it not only works on a lot of the EF mount cinema cameras but I won’t need any additional adapters to fix it to my R5. I’ll make a more technical review of this lens when I make a proper review video for YouTube. In this blog post I wanted to show a few photos I shot with this lens yesterday.
This is the third time I’ve used this lens and I have to admit I think I fell in love with it after the first photo. If you’re into the vintage 80s vibes there is something so distinctly unique about the character of this lens and the feel of the photos. It takes me right back to being a kid in the 80s. I don’t know how to quantify it but once you see it you can’t un-see it. The photos it creates are absolutely beautiful. From the way it renders colours to the chromatic abrasions in high contrast areas to the moody surreal character it creates. It also produces really unique sun flairs with strange streaks and multicolor sun refractions. I think this is my new favorite lens. Enjoy the photos.
