COMICA CVM-WM200A WIRELESS LAVALIER MICROPHONE REVIEW

Welcome back to the channel. Today we’re going to be looking at the Comica CVM WM200A Wireless Lavalier Microphone system. With this kit you get two transmitters, one receiver and a bunch of goodies to get you started. In this video we’re going to take a look at what comes in the kit and test the microphones in different situations to see how they sound. Are these mics worth the price? Are these a worthy budget Lav system for your YouTube channel? How easy are they to set up for beginners? These are all questions we’ll answer in this video. If you have any questions leave them in the YouTube comments and I’ll get back to you.

If you’ve bought this mic set and want to know how to set them up to work with your camera click on this link for a how to video.

Audio Quality:
The audio quality from these mics is ok. You are buying a budget lav system so you can’t expect to get top quality audio. I think the audio is definitely useable for YouTube but if you are looking for professional level sound these mics leave you wanting more. The base sounds a little scratchy and the highs sound muffled. Overall the audio doesn’t sound clear and crispy.

Build Quality:
These mics have good build quality. They have a metal housing so I’m sure they’ll last even if you are a bit rough with your equipment. I managed to scratch the paint on my transmitter pretty easily so the paint could be better but overall I’m happy with them.

Battery Life:
There is a nice feature with these lavs which allows you to be able to lower the RF range of the transmitters in order to save battery power. So far I’ve found that with a fresh set of AA rechargeable batteries and the RF Power set to low I got about 7 hours of on time with the mic set. That’s more than enough time if you ask me.

Microphone Size:
In testing I noticed that the size of the lavalier mic is pretty large compared to other lavs I have used. It’s just something to keep in mind if you are planning on trying to hid the mic under clothes in your videos.

Easy of Use:
These are very easy to use. Once you have your settings dialed in all you have to do it turn on your transmitters and receiver and the system can automatically find and connect all devices. You latterly only need to turn them on and connect the receiver to your camera.

Value For Money:
I’m on the fence here. I feel like they are a bit overpriced for what they are. I wish there was an option to buy this set without the hard case to save some money. I don’t see myself using it much. I think for the price you pay for this system the audio should be better.
