Canon Camera Vertical Video Hack

Canon cameras are renowned for their exceptional ergonomics, well-placed buttons, and user-friendly menu interface. However, with the emergence of vertical video in the creator space, some issues have come to light. One such issue is the upside-down playback of vertical video recorded on Canon cameras. If you flip your screen up so you’re able to see yourself as you’re recording everything looks good. But when you hit the play button to review your footage you’ll be watching yourself upside down. The simple fix for this issue is to turn your screen clockwise just a little which will flip the image on the screen into the proper orientation.

From my testing so far this glitch exists on the EOS R, R7 and R5. I assume it also exists on the EOS R3, R6, R6 mkII, R8 and R10. Canon has a good track record of making very user friendly cameras so hopefully they fix this glitch in a future firmware update.
